Description
The painting is a riot of colour made with rapid mark-making over several layers. Small areas of the canvas can be seen through the paint adding contrasting texture to the work’s surface.
It is best seen from a distance; close viewing reveals individual marks with little coherence in the same way the French Pointillists’ brush strokes figuratively unified to form a whole greater than the sum of its parts.
Oil on canvas, 80cm x 100cm
